Kwik.insure is an online insurance marketplace that promises easy and reliable insurance.
I joined Kwik Insure shortly after ABS-CBN was shut downed. It was a middle of pandemic and every business was struggling, but here’s a startup that wants to capture the insurance marketplace. It was a very bold and brave company. CEO Hamil Angluben personifies what Kwik Insure is all about. He’s one of the bravest CEO I’ve had the privilege of working with. He is a great leader, charismatic and wise leader. I have no doubt that Kwik Insure will become successful exponentially in the next years.
I was a Senior Full Stack Engineer for a whole year, before I resigned. The only reason that I left was that there were a lot of uncertainty within the pandemic and this brilliant insurance marketplace took a lot of risks, I was just not sure of taking a lot of them. I was looking for a more stable career, given that I’ve been to companies that shut downed, startups and endeavors that was always trying to lift off.
Nevertheless, my entire tenure with Kwik Insure is one of my best work experience, second to my stay in Nokia. They were a startup but moved like a big giant corporate established company – this was not an easy feat.
I was working with the development team composed of 4 developers 2 QAs 2 product team. The team was managed directly by the CTO, Franco Nazareno – one of the best engineer that I’ve worked with. Very understanding, fair, professional and very bright. Probably the best CTO I’ve had a good working relationship with. The team had a very open communication and very desirable traits. It was such a fun working with all of them, and I wish my circumstances was different, and maybe I could’ve stayed longer.
